Works For Sale
In my current painting and drawing I am exploring a relationship between figuration and abstraction.
My figuration influences include figures, portraits and nature. I love working with people and capturing aspects of personality in facial expression, bodily gestures and attitudes.
In my still life and interior paintings I am driven primarily by use of colour and shapes.
The figurative starting points give way to decorative space and form, expressive marks and vibrant colours
I am currently developing more work that is entirely abstract, working with basic forms such as circles and squares, texture and pure painting by removing obvious reference to the real world and giving me freedom to explore.

Biography
I'm an artist and photographer, once a homeless addict. I suffer with COPD and PTSD. Painting and voluntary work helped me recover and re-enter society. My belief is “Creativity is food for the disabled and damaged”
I volunteer with Café Art and Crisis & I started painting ten years ago when I found myself in prison for a drug offence. I put a nude watercolor in an exhibition and 6 people asked to buy it. I had previously been a successful business woman and Psychotherapist ……had lost everything due to addiction. I’ve had a chequered life with long periods of addiction and recovery. I was now disabled so I started to paint as a way to fill my time. I became a professional artist December 2017 after winning awards and being offered two exhibitions.
